Hernest project makes use of low-impact materials such as Post Consumer Recycled Natural Materials (Cotton/Wool), Organic Cotton, Offcuts, Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)-certified Fibers, Organic Content Standard (OCS)-certified Fibers, Tencel™ Lyocell, FSC-certified Wood Sourced Fibers and Global Recycled Standard (GRS)-certified Fibers in the products that they offer.
They are GOTS, OEKO-TEX and Bluesign-certified.
Hernest Project mininises fabric waste by working with factories that use digital cutting techniques to maximize the fabric use.
They also make innovative use of scraps to make scrunchies.
They provide a resale platform and make extremely small batches (<300 per style).
Most of their final stage production takes place in Portugal.
They are a slow fashion brand with products made in small batches.
They have a small collection.
They make use of minimal 100% Compostable Cardboard, sourced from Better Packaging Co.
They offset their emissions by working with Greenstory.io to calculate the Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) and footprint of all their products.
